Partially through the run I could tell my hair was starting to fall. I hate when that happens but continued to run. What a mistake that was.
It turned into a giant knot. I figured if I got into the shower and used a bunch of conditioner it would be okay and I'd be able to brush through it.
Boy was I wrong. I spent at least 30 minutes ripping through my hair trying to salvage as much as I could. I ended up losing some in the process on the floor but this was the final chunk that was left after I pulled as much out as I could. My poor hair.
2. This weekend I had 17 miles on schedule and I know doing 17 miles without any friends is just insane so I drove to their cabin on Friday, just with the intentions of waking up at 5am to go run 17 miles since all my running friends were going to be there. Of course once you get to a cabin, reality sets in and beer is the beverage of choice.
When we got back, we all showered. Since it was so cold (only in the 50's) there was sadly no more jumping into the lake so I just opted to wear every layer of clothing I had and sit down by the lake.
We all decided to head to a bar to warm up and eat food. My stay was short though and I had to get back home shortly so I had to miss out once again.
I ordered a diet Pepsi and even the bartender said "Is that all you're going to get?" Then she refused to take money for it. Thanks bartender.
Everyone else did much better at recovery drinking.
3. The reason I had to get back home so quickly is that Mike's company was putting on their yearly family event. They rented out the entire outdoor theater and had activities for the kids. I didn't want to miss it.
The kids had a great time and I enjoyed being back home with them. It's crazy how you can miss them so much after just one night away.
